though I thought contemporary services did more “praise and worship” songs than hymns. Really, I’ve been to both types, and both have their good and bad points.

Does anybody out there remember when the Electric Prunes made the album “Mass in F Minor?” Circa 1968.

Amazing what a ‘modern’ and complex high-tech ‘service’ would be…and yet God sees the heart…“hypocrites who pray in public…” Not sure I want to pray in that electric church…altho the synchronized meetings have virtues…

I’m with mom and dad on this one. When we moved 13 years ago we had a hard time finding a Methodist church that did not do the “contemporary” service as its primary. Think that trend may be fading now.

I’ve tried to enlarge the page. Doesn’t always work and if it does the words are fuzzier than they were before. After a while I hunt around for my magnifying glass.

I agree with Old Wolf — but hey, old eyes or young eyes, what’s the point of publishing a comic that’s almost impossible to read? Why is there a magnifying glass at the bottom if you don’t enable it so we can make use of it?

If you think THIS is bad, try Pentecostals! Or for that matter, ANY non-Traditional faith.“Church” has nothing to do with sitting in neat, orderly rows in pews while some cranky, crotchety old geezer lectures you about sin, damnation, fire and brimstone.“Church” is about YOU proclaiming YOUR FAITH in God – in YOUR IMAGE of whatever you believe God to be. And doing so in whatever fashion is most comfortable FOR YOU.If the crochety old guy is YOUR comfort zone, go for it. If not, grab a Hippie with a Karaoke rig and start singing his kind of hymns.Or do what I do, and just sit down whenever you feel “the need for creed” and have a nice quiet chat with ‘The Boss’ with no middleman.Different strokes for diff’rent folks; thats why they make Fords & Chevvys. And Dodges.
