That ought to be justifiable homicide. I remember when I was around 10 seeing all my unwrapped presents in my parents’ closet and looking at all of them, then on Christmas morning hoping there was something I’d missed that could still be a surprise but there wasn’t. It was a disappointment but taught me a lesson I never forgot. Now Teena resists looking but Jeri blabs it all. Rotten scumbag. I’d slap her upside the head several times for that!
It’s the anticipation of the Christmas gift surprise that is the joy of it. Jeri is so mean, it’s beyond words, this time…
This story reminded me when I was about ten, or so, and found out the truth about Santa. He visited our house every year, and that year when I recognized that person, I cried later on, and told mother who tried to make things all right by explaining how things work, etc. Even after that, next year I was hoping secretly that I was wrong, but he never visited our house but we still got our gifts under the Christmas tree “by magic”…so I know exactly how Teena must be feeling right now…
