you know how to make it a challenge? tell them the eggs are hidden but in reality you hid nothing – that way you can use some time with your wife (unless you’re not looking for that as well, up to you!)
I’ve never been on an egg hunt. My parents would make individualized baskets for each of us kids & have them sitting on the kitchen table at our places when we woke up. One year I took my little brother’s, hid it, & left a “hint card” at his place, which led to another card, which led to another, finally ending up at the basket. My brother enjoyed it so much that on the 3rd year he said to me, “I know you don’t feel well & I’m really too old…but could you do it just one more time?” I still have all of the cards, from all 3 years. I somehow ended up with them when my brother died…but have no memory of how.

At my age, my short term memory has reached the point where I can hide my own Easter eggs.
