My husband & I settled on a name while we were still dating…held that name until we had our first daughter in 2002. Everyone we knew, knew we were set on the names for both boy & girl. When we found out we were having a girl, my mother said to me, “I KNOW you have a name set, but can I make a recommendation? I know a name. I have a lot of friends with that name, and it’s not that popular any more, so it would be unique.” I said, “OK, Mom…what is it?” “Emma.” “Um…Mom…THAT IS THE #1 GIRLS’ NAME IN THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW!” Needless to say, neither of our daughters are named Emma. LOL
