It now has the 2nd-highest literacy rate in the world, longevity and infant mortality rates at the level of developed countries, and only 1.5% of their population is in extreme poverty. Now, it also has the 2nd-highest rate of journalist imprisonment in the world, not to mention dilapidated infrastructure and lost of people living in non-extreme poverty — but it’s a lot better off now compared to how it was under capitalism.
