Bill Clinton was extremely good at giving off-the-cuff remarks. The knock on Obama is very similar to the knock on Reagan (except the source is the other side). Both Obama and Reagan were good at prepared speeches, but struggled a bit when making off-the-cuff remarks. Reagan was prone to gaffes and Obama comes across as very dull and wandering. The upside to Reagan is that he could come across as “folksy” even when reading from a script, while Obama tends to come across as scripted and stilted at times.

Well, considering that Obama gives the same speeches all the time (“it’s Bush’s/Congress’/ATM’s fault”), can you blame Scott?
