Need a little “history” help here. The first Prickly comic in Go Comics is 11 July 2004, a Sunday panel. The week of 12-17 July, and including 19 July, seem to be character development. Was this the beginning of the strip?.Strolling through those first weeks, I see the Prickly City that I used to enjoy. While a conservative leaning strip, and I am a liberal leaning reader, nevertheless, there was a certain charm in those early strips that crossed ideological lines..Reading those early strips is a pure joy – no matter our beliefs..That’s what I’m looking for in a comic strip – political or funny..I will never call a conservative an idiot simply because I disagree with him (or her). Just as I tire of hearing radio commentators calling us idiots because we are liberals..But I digress..These recent “bunny” strips – what the sam hill are they all about? Is the “bunny” supposed to be someone in particular? Or is he just a generic representation of congressmen in general?.One thing for sure: This arc has been anything but charming..Or informative..I might also add, over the years, something has happened to the relationship between Winslow and Carmen – besides a decided change in artwork and style..While I can’t put my finger on what’s going on, one thing is for sure: The whimsy of the strip is missing.

That said, I will say that I enjoyed yesterday’s (27 Oct 2013) Sunday panel. It was much more like the Prickly City I remember.

I recall the Walt Kelly “bunny” strips in Pogo, when editors wouldn’t run the strip when Mr. Kelly said something controversial, he’d send them a strip with bunnies being cute,

Why is it the loonies always demonize Sarah Palin? She obviously knows economics better than anyone who has served since Reagan (excluding Cheney). You betcha they never address her arguments – they are leftists, they never even hear her arguments – and they respond with only epithets.

Only leftists are surprised that ObamaCare is turning out as badly as the stimulus and Benghazi and Fast and Furious. The Cash for Clunkers government at its apogee.

Dear Night Gaunt, he “works” but he does not govern. Remember, as he has never had a real job, he thinks stirring up the community is work.
