From yesterday..Yes, I came in the middle of something that was already going on. I haven’t found the beginning of the “bunny” arc and Go Comics doesn’t make it very easy. Moreover, I’m not sure the beginning of this arc would shed any light on what’s going on, anyway..swr (is that standing wave ratio?) (old radio technician here): Actually, it’s not because I think Stantis is treating “us” (or whoever you think I am) like the folks in Doonesbury – which I no longer read anymore, even though I am a liberal..It’s just that whoever this demonic “bunny” is, he is so generic, I haven’t the faintest idea who he is trying to represent, let alone which “side” he’s on!.I can think of more Republicans than Democrats who might fit the image of this “bunny.” Especially the Tea Party! And that would surprise me, given that Stantis is a conservative..“But I don’t WANT to govern!” That does seem to be the Tea Party motto..I can almost imagine this “Senator Kevin” being Ted Cruz!.On the other hand, maybe this is Stantis’ jab at his own party!.If so, then bravo! It wouldn’t be the first time Stantis called out his own colleagues. That was an element of surprise that made the old Prickly City both unpredictable and interesting..And again from yesterday:.I will never call a conservative an idiot just because I don’t believe the same as he or she does. All I ask is the same from the “other side,” as swr put it..I’m all for an open exchange of ideas..To me, that’s part of what being a liberal is all about!.That said, and as I said yesterday, the Sunday panels are still very good – and very enjoyable – whether I agree with them or not!.I’m just hoping this strip doesn’t turn into another Gasoline Alley, where only the Sunday strips are interesting.

fbjsr: Because shutting down the government isn’t the way to solve problems, didn’t solve any problems, and certainly didn’t save any money..Moving on: The more I think about it, it’s the only thing that makes sense here – Stantis may well be calling out his own party for its horrendous performance this last month!.In fact, Senator Kevin is looking more and more like Ted Cruz! Thinks a temper tantrum looks presidential? Looks like the shoe fits..Perhaps the biggest clues here are that both Winslow and Carmen look pretty disgusted. Still don’t know how both of them got into this mess. Several weeks ago I saw a panel that gave me the impression that it was Carmen who volunteered to help the dumb bunny, but I could be wrong; I did come in the middle of this mêlée..But clearly, neither Winslow or Carmen is happy. Both seem speechless..Perhaps the biggest clue: Normally, Carmen gets an “I told you so” line. Not found here!.This would only make sense if Stantis were actually taking aim at his own party!.Last, and certainly least: I am a liberal, but I am not an ideological wonk. Ideological wonks are killing both parties!.It’s cooperate and compromise, not a game of chicken! Both parties have good ideas. But somewhere along the line, it became “my way or the highway”! Let’s hold our breath and see who turns blue first!.Alas, I am a night worker and a day sleeper. Time to go to bed.

Cheapskate, actually Kevin is an indie whom represents the worst that both parties have to offer. And, his wife seems to represent the worst that politician’s spouses have to offer.

The difference between the leftists and the Tea Party is that the leftists believe they are charged to tell us how to live, and to make us pay for the privilege of their genius. Tea Party thinks everyone should pay his own way. Socialism always crashes, and free markets always clear.

Dear NightGaunt, I respectfully disagree with your view of ideology. At least our leftist friends – with whom I disagree on every issue – understand their vision and knowingly embrace the diminishment of freedom. Spare me those rudderless souls who believe only in their capacity to brilliantly adjudicate every issue ab initio – that absence of any clear vision inevitably leads into the muck, with no significantly greater freedom than the leftists impose.
