Thanks Winslow. Now can you spare a little outrage for Moldova, or have they changed the northern part of the country’s name again. Oh yeah, while you’re at it , China’s getting grabby lately, and now Japan wants to … Can we take care of stuff at home, or do we have to be told what to care about? Nic Kristof may not be the best person to ask right now.

Regardless of your politics, you have to admit, today’s PC is correct!

It isn’t simply apathy, its emotional over-stimulation brought on by media overload, and numb despair over a lack of any real hope for a better future. Most of us don’t give a damn about the Ukraine, Moldova, who or what the royals in some other nation are doing or how bad it is in some small nation we can barely find on the map. They can fix their own problems. We want things fixed here at home. We do not care if you are republican or democrat and we don’t really give a hoot about “liberal” or “conservative” since we recognize both words no longer have any meaning. That’s how you kill a culture by the way. You murder its language. You water down its words, remove their meaning by over use, apply those words randomly to anyone you don’t like irregardless if they fit or not, then allow mean spirited ugly souled people to verbally batter anyone who objects with more meaningless emotional and mindless verbiage. Then when anyone tries to start a real discussion instead of answering with logic, thought and honesty, you elevate ad hoc arguments from the gutter where they belong and treat them as if they were true debate then pillory those who object.

ExoticDoc’s got me baffled, too, JLG. I thought the liberals had become watered down Republicans!

A watered-down liberal would be one who thinks government regulators serve some useful purpose. Sounds like a good description of “mainstream” Republicans. And when government-pogenic horrors arise – from ATF or IRS or NSA or EPA or VA – they say “tut, tut.”
