Have you seen those toilet paper commercials where the different toys and bathroom accessories are stuck in the presence of…well, bathroom activities? They can’t move, they can’t close their eyes, etc., etc. That poor statue of Mr. Lincoln, stuck looking out over DC, must feel very much the same way recently (put whatever definition on “recent” you like), except he’s not in a nice clean bathroom. He’s in a dysfunctional sewer.
