Well, the garbage truck IS the rock star of all vehicles for the preschool set. Forget the firefighters and police officers — little kids want to meet the garbage truck drivers! I have 4 kids and every one of them loved running out to watch the garbage truck go down and back up our street. So did all the neighbors kids!!
I initially interpreted it that way also, until I read enigmamz’s query. Reconsidering the first panel in light of the rest of the strip makes me think Sterling is going after Seagull…. who is wholeheartedly charging into the skirmish.
Upon first read-through, I thought Sterling was after Wallace….. but you raise a good point that he may be after Seagull. Based on the rest of the strip, Sterling is probably after Seagull.
Ahh, memories! Though it was New Years Eve 1999 when hubby and I got engaged at a Barenaked Ladies concert. Now “If I had a Million Dollars” is playing in my head.
As I keep reminding my mother, 1983 was FORTY years ago. I graduated high school in 1995. My kids would DEFINITELY consider a 1997 lunchbox vintage… rightfully so.
Libraries don’t typically place donated books on their shelves. Donated books usually end up being sold by the affiliated “Friends of the (whichever) Library” group.
I have 2 boys and 2 girls and they ALL loved the garbage truck. And yes, letting them dress themselves was always interesting.
