It will probably work. I have one I used for years but I had to go back to my pushbutton model so I could talk to computerised systems like my doctor’s. They upped their game and now it’s next to impossible to contact the office. They’re trying to shuffle everyone online and I really do not want my business online. Now when I need my prescriptions refilled I just call it into the pharmacy and let them try to connect with the doctor’s office. Man, back when I was a kid there was one lady who handled the office calls and I can’t recall getting put on hold. We sure have made progress! ;]
I doubt many here know the red rose was associated with the Tudors. I started getting into English history after watching “The Six Wives of Henry VIII.” The local library had quite a lot of material and I think I read most of it.
Do the parents know what those titles might encompass? Likely not and falling back on a list prepared by some right wing organisation may not give the parents the correct information.
The lists wouldn’t be prepared by a “right wing organization”; they’d be prepared by the schools. We currently have a Right-wing outfit called “Mothers for Liberty” sending out lists of books they want banned. They are also running candidates for school boards and showing up at board meetings with their gripes. I find it ironic that an organisation “for Liberty” is all for book banning. But then these people aren’t aware of the incongruity of their stands.
Nice summation of the ‘toon. There were thankfully very few Bugs’ cartoons that were mediocre at best. I can think of one from the 1990s involving an alien invasion that lacked the sharp wit usually associated with Bugs.
I’ve seen the same phenomena in movies and TV – “Mighty Morphin’ aircraft”
