I remain unconvinced that Victoria is not Brenda. Brenda leaves for vacation in Vegas in part because Joe just refuses to see her “that way”. A more made up woman, looking to me an awful lot like Brenda, shows up at the clam shack. She stays. Brenda never returns. Hmmm…
Now I know in reality, you’d see through that almost immediately. But then, horses don’t talk, nor do they fit into bed with little girls, so if you’re going to pick a nit, don’t do it on the basis of “reality”, thank you very much.

I still harbor a sneaking suspicion that Victoria is Brenda with a new look that she adopted so that Joe doesn’t see her as his childhood bud…
But then, I’ve read WAAAY too many Shakespeare comedies.

Now that I think about this, this is probably not that bad an idea.
I know a guy who spent 7 years living with someone who then left. I’ve been through a divorce myself (remarried). And there is this to dating, and what I think is going on here: when you hit “a certain age”, you don’t even want to start down the dating path unless you know it at least COULD end in marriage/a permanent relationship.
That’s what this whole things about…the only question Victoria ACTUALLY needed an answer to was, “Will Joe come over to the booth?”

Nuts to the Poli-nuts. I may never get an answer to something that’s eating at me at this point thanks to being all this way down the comment thread but: Wiley, is there any significance to the v2.2 to the 2nd power on the monitor or was it just something “math-y” sounding for it?
I get the G Infinity (although isn’t there an Infinti G-series car?) but the v2.2 to the second is bugging me for some reason.
As for the Sunday strip gripe, it seems self-eveident to me: they’re larger and you can do more detail artwork. Look at Ordinary Basil and Homer…the detail is much higher than ever gets seen in a daily strip.
No, if I’m gonna gripe about something in strip it’s that the “girlfriend for Joe” sequence died suddenly with one sister (Danae’s preferred version) in Vegas and the other (Joe’s preferred version) minding the clam shack.
That’s one long winning streak she’s on to have stayed in Vegas that long (though in my mental version, they’re the same woman, said lady having realized that Joe would never look at her “that way” as long as he thinks of her as his old childhood bud…)
Seriously, Wiley…sequenceus interruptus…

Yeah, but when it shows up, it does it in 3 foot increments (or it did when I was living in New Hampshire).

Cap’n Eddie does NOT speak with a Boston Accent. He speaks with a MAINE accent.
It’s perfectly clear to ME.
Since Wiley is reading this, pygmy clydesdales don’t exist, but my wife (who rode ponies and horses competitively as a teenager) tells me that some of Lucy’s “visions”…like seeing a shark and crocodile infested lagoon when it was in reality a puddle is VERY typical of horses.
Do you have a daughter/niece/other relative who is into horses, that you learned this? Becuse my wife swears you must.
Also, I have to say that when you introduced Petey, and all the awful things that happened to him after his beloved owner died and then the “shot” where he was headed into Whatchacallit, ME and I knew what was about to happen was incredibly moving.
