   Well, the cartoonist works for a publisher that lost it’s Catholic title in 1968. This is an opinion strip from a supermarket tabloid rag formerly known as the “National ‘catholic’ Reporter.” After it lost its status as a Catholic publication it is now officially a secular paper along the lines of the National Enquirer.

   I read this comic so I know what I will hear next from the anti-Catholic and the wacky far left/right crowd (as they are both the same).

   And the Pope’s outfit costs a lot more. What do you expect from a political cartoonist who knows nothing about the Catholic faith and works for a publisher that lost it’s “Catholic” title back in 1968. It’s official designation is a secular paper call the “National Reporter.”

   The Roman Catholic already does everything that is written in the comic. And has done so for 2000 years. The Holy Spirit, as one with the Father and the Son, as recorded in Sacred Scripture and words of Jesus: pronoun is Him. I speak with the authority of the Church as I am the only one here with an STM in Sacred Theology.

   There is no awful secret. And Rhetta knows all the details. I remember this from the original run and from the details added to the publish collections.

   The tradition continues. Last year, mom was annoyed. Two years ago, m9m encouraged it. Now to see how it goes this year.

   The story line will circle back in unique ways to Farley, to show the process of grief. One of the best ones is when Elizabeth is resting under “Farley’s Tree.” When it comes around, take a look at the branches and watch Edgar as he plays around the tree trunk.

   The story took place in the mid-1990s. Helicopter parenting did not exist. This was the norm for most of us who grew up in the 80s and most of the 90s.

    Lynn planned Farley’s death for some time as the comic ran “real world.” Nothing to do with the April story line. See the book “Remembering Farley” for the background. I am not sure if the webpage still has the more detailed background as the book was published in 1996.
