Want some tasty Right Wing quotes, folks? Here’s your bloody evidence, old school style, courtesy of today’s Truthout.org article by Wm. Rivers Pitt:
“I tell people don’t kill all the liberals. Leave enough so we can have two on every campus - living fossils - so we will never forget what these people stood for.”
Rush Limbaugh, Denver Post, 12-29-95“Get rid of the guy. Impeach him, censure him, assassinate him.”
Rep. James Hansen (R-UT), talking about President Clinton“We’re going to keep building the party until we’re hunting Democrats with dogs.”
Senator Phil Gramm (R-TX), Mother Jones, 08-95“My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building.”
Ann Coulter, New York Observer, 08-26-02“We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors.”
Ann Coulter, at the Conservative Political Action Conference, 02-26-02“Chelsea is a Clinton. She bears the taint; and though not prosecutable in law, in custom and nature the taint cannot be ignored. All the great despotisms of the past - I’m not arguing for despotism as a principle, but they sure knew how to deal with potential trouble - recognized that the families of objectionable citizens were a continuing threat. In Stalin’s penal code it was a crime to be the wife or child of an ‘enemy of the people.’ The Nazis used the same principle, which they called Sippenhaft, ‘clan liability.’ In Imperial China, enemies of the state were punished ‘to the ninth degree’: that is, everyone in the offender’s own generation would be killed and everyone related via four generations up, to the great-great-grandparents, and four generations down, to the great-great-grandchildren, would also be killed.”
John Derbyshire, National Review, 02-15-01“Two things made this country great: White men & Christianity. The degree these two have diminished is in direct proportion to the corruption and fall of the nation. Every problem that has arisen (sic) can be directly traced back to our departure from God’s Law and the disenfranchisement of White men.”
State Rep. Don Davis (R-NC), emailed to every member of the North Carolina House and Senate, reported by the Fayetteville Observer, 08-22-01(SOURCE: http://www.truth-out.org/the-wrath-fools-an-open-letter-to-far-right66686)
There’s more if you want it – and all anyone has to do is go to O’Reilly or Savage for those.
Devolution is real, but it doesn’t have to STAY real.

I’ve known that I have a problem with the Dems for some time now – being a registered Dem myself, often reluctantly – but let me announce to the world that this cartoon GETS IT.
Hey, DSCC and DCCC?? You out there?? Wonder why I’m not answering your calls or sending back your envelopes, filled with my checks? Scroll back up, people. Better still, send this to your boss and have him / her send it up the chain.
I know what the alternative is – BUT YOU GUYS MADE IT POSSIBLE. Fight? Okay. Been ready since 2000. Lemme know when YOU are ready, okay? Okay then – buh-bye now! Buh-bye!

@Radish : Devolution is real. You don’t have to look very far to see the evidence. Jerry Casale said that. He is / was right.

Can we ban marriage? Here’s a fun idea: Tax marriage (as if it isn’t taxing enough already, har har). Oh, not the Marriage License Tax rate – I mean tax the ever-lovin’ firetruck out of it.
That’ll keep “conservative” marriages at a minimum, “gay” marriages will go up (though I have no idea why) – and the rest of us will just plain be happier.

I want to feel sorry for her – that’s the LIBERAL (and proud of it) in me – but I can’t. That’s the allegedly pragmatic, “conservative” side of me speaking. For any and all “conservatives” who might follow me, heed the warning: You sympathize with her for all the wrong reasons. You think she’s strong – wrong. “Strong” wouldn’t have quit her job to run off for the bright light$ of the Big City. You think she’s smart – “smart” isn’t as dumb as a box of rocks. You think she’s trustworthy – “trustworthy” doesn’t sell out to oil companies and other corporate interests that are the REAL enemies of this country. Wise up, people!

Dear rottenprat, widen your perspective a little bit. It ain’t all about rottenprat anymore. We’re ALL in a world of bleeep, and you ARE gonna help us out. When you’re done, you can go back to Libertarian rottenprat-land and gamble away what we all helped you earn. Until then don’t be a jerkwad. Stop supporting those who’d just a soon take a big dump on you – and they will, too, and pretty soon. Here they come now! RUN!!
Now to nicer subjects – do I detect a bit of Robert Crumb in the rendering of “Granny” above? She’s got her “Keep On Truckin’ ” / Mr. Natural thick-soled boots on – and her coat is absolutely Crumb-esque.

Say, is that John Boehner hiding by the door – and Dick Cheney grinning underneath a Panama hat? Doing his best Sydney Greenstreet [ look him up ] impersonation? Mr. Oliphant has hit it spot on once again.

Yep, thanks a pantload, BushCo! The NeoCons and their not-so-invisible hands of the free market have slapped us yet again. The saddest part: We won’t remember this in a year. Worse still, there are pro-BeePee and pro-oil drilling factions hyping up the Gulf Coasters as you read this.
And those residents are going for it. What else do they have? An industrial base capable of making oil-free cars? Solar panels? Drilling equipment capble of creating geothermal jobs? Nooooope.
Some of us get what we deserve; all of us deserve what we get.

HQ, no offense, bud, but why stick up for those who’d dump petro-sludge on your home, then try to burn it off, then try to cap the smouldering ruins of your house, then try six other failed shut-off “techniques” – all of which have names worthy of mediocre porn / bad war movies. – Oh, and as if all that wasn’t enough, as you are standing there wondering what they hell else they are gonna do to what’s left of your property, they are spraying the place with “Corexit” – a substance guaranteed to kill anything and everything it comes in contact with. – Oh, did I mention that you used to run a vacation business on your property? Please have the place cleaned up before your customers arrive next week. Thanks.
Yes, W(ar).Crime, it’s true.
Here’s a little known or remembered fact concerning the Randi Rhodes “quote”:
She never said it. It was not her; those were not HER words. They were aired on her show, yes, but it was a comedy skit, the kind that often run at the top of the hour after the news break. She hadn’t heard it before it ran, it ran, she apologized for it. She promised tighter control of the skits thereafter, and this must have come true – you can only name one.
BUT when someone on the Right does something distasteful in public – maybe something like a “Barack the Magic Black Man”? Anybody remember THAT lyrical gem from ‘08-‘09? – and he or she gets called out for it, what usually happens? A civilized explanation? A decent apology?
Not on your life. Whining, bitching, excuses and equivocations (look it up), blaming the other side for not getting the “joke,” and the list goes on and on. Basically playing the poor li’l victim.
I know this bleeep – I know what I’m talking about here. I’m a Proud Liberal / Progressive who comes from a long line of (little-c) conservative Republicans. They said nasty stuff and didn’t give a bleeep who heard it, or who was hurt by it.
So please, all you Proud Tea-publican water-carriers, think about it. Are you proud of what your side has done in the last twenty years when it comes to pretty much tipping over this country – and are you willing to admit wrongs happened – or are you gonna continue lying to yourselves (and the rest of us)?
The choice is yours. If you believe in a God and a Jesus, you better get right with them and damned quickly. There’s a big difference between Palin, Beck and Limbaugh, and what you so often claim to be a Heaven for the pure of heart and soul.
