If they didn’t die as children, living to 45 (or even longer, like 55) was likely not at all uncommon in prehistoric times. The high rate of child death drags down the average.
You could make an argument that “standard time” is based on the concept of local noon, where “noon” is defined as the time at which the sun reaches its highest point during the day. But the invention of time zones renders that definition only an approximation anyway.
