Oh good grief. Don’t start male bashing! I consider myself to be respectful of women in every way but I will make no apologies for being a man! Deal with it!

I would love to see minorities make it too. The problem with your idea is that you seem to think all the problems that minorities face would somehow disappear if they would quit whining and complaining. Where do you think African Americans would be if we never “whined and complained”? Do you think the white man would then consider us equal? Would we have the same opportunities as he does? Would we be on equal footing if we would all stop whining and complaining? The main reason African Americans have gotten where we are today is because of whining and complaining. MLK Jr, Rosa Parks, and many others – whiners and complainers. Without them, we would have no civil rights at all. Truly, do you think white people would one day say, "You know, I think we need to include African Americans in our society and allow them to have the same opportunities as we do. " No! By not whining and complaining, you would automatically think that African Americans would be content with the white status quo. Now I’m not calling you a racist or a bigot but your analogy makes those kinds of people more intelligent than you.

The point is called development. And you should know how methodical that can be in a comic strip. So keep calm and wait for it.

Charlie Brown is right. Girls aren’t cut out for that kind of thing. The world would be a much better place if boys weren’t either.

FYI – @common sense’s post was NOT a good post. It’s full of unfounded, knee-jerk reactions. However, your post about racism/racist being overused is spot-on. THAT was a good post!

What does being rich have to do with anything? Someone’s economic standing doesn’t change how society views a particular group of people. And the notion that “Blacks dominates sports and music” is utter nonsense. You’re completely missing the point of the Oscar controversy. For two years in a row, African Americans have been intentionally (?) left out of any type of nominations for their efforts and contributions to the cinematic arts. However, just so you can become educated, their are/have been African Americans who have started movie companies. The point is that so few of its contributors have been recognized in the Oscars so your comment about starting our own movie business is completely moot. Also, greed has nothing to do with it. Just being recognized does. And “rich blacks” whining about things? Racism, prejudice, and discrimination has absolutely nothing to do with economics. If you are those things, you will always be those things regardless of how much money I have in my pocket.

I’m the organist and pianist in my church and we have sort of a hybrid service where I play half hymns and half contemporary Christian music. We use to have two services but there were so few people at the contemporary one so we just combined them.

Although you can’t please every one, it seems to be working so far.
