He’s 78! He’s old enough to be yelling at the self-checkout machine!

I see we’ve once again hit that point where I am largely unfamiliar with the strips. I got every collection I could but somehow MISSED one back in the day- I was shocked to find strips in a bookstore I’d never seen before. I’ve read the entirety of the C&H run, but because I only read these ones as an adult and not constantly as a kid, I forget them more often.

Lynn definitely does a very good “thoughtful young woman looking downwards”. She sometimes uses it as a default for a pretty backgrounder.

Those Archies were especially funny because they swapped the stories entirely from an “Archie Novels” series from the early 1990s. They didn’t even do original work!

The “New Look” was actually popular for a short time and became a regular feature, but they eventually gave up (or just ran out of novels)

Impressive! Yet also this makes me realize that Greg Evans is CRAZY old- born in 1947!! Good thing his daughter has taken over aspects of it!

You learn this one in retail real quick- “return fraud” is just as big a money loser as shoplifting, and is why stores should ALWAYS insist on a receipt for proof of purchase, or tell the customer to hit the trail. The amount of times I’ve scanned a “returned” item that my store doesn’t even sell is hilarious. The person is always totally flummoxed and pretends they’re confused.

Which race? The Wiener dog one? That went to the random side-dog that nobody saw after the first strip, I think.

See I like how Lynn understands how men know the game- she knows that a smart man knows that saying “No I want it long” is gonna be making the wife very bitter when A) she cuts it short anyways despite what he said, or B) when she doesn’t cut it and mourns wistfully “what could have been”.

yeah, I remember my old dentist would send updates for my next appointments in the mail using John Patterson as an image. I think dentists appreciated not being seen as a malicious army of greedy liars, lol.
