    So you’ve never bought something you intend to share with a friend and, after waiting a while for said friend to turn up decided to go ahead and eat your half, then after even longer waiting realised that you have the second half in your mouth and you’d better finish it to give you plausible deniability? It’s a common sitcom trope if nothing else. But the fact that there’s a word for it is evidence enough that it occurs!

    Grr! Stop portraying evolution as purposive. Humans did not evolve (in order) TO do anything. Evolution simply favoured a characteristic which made bipedalism easier and more efficient.
