   As a teacher, I face this every day. I’ll spend time going into great detail on the assignment and ask if there are any questions. No questions. Then 5 minutes later: What am I supposed to be doing? Or I’ll go over the grading rubric that clearly states minimum 4 paragraphs and they’ll turn in 1 paragraph or a single sentence and then wonder why I want them to redo it, or give them a failing grade.

   Lynn was one of the few comics writers who authentically aged her characters. We watched the kids grow up and get married. It is authentic to have the family pet die. Unlike Barfy and Sam in Family Circus

   Interesting, I’ve only ever heard of a circle of mushrooms called a “fairy ring” in a book by Wilson Rawls “Summer of the Monkeys” same author who wrote Where the Red Fern Grows." Curiously, I’m currently reading SOTM with my class.

   I really don’t like the new look. Not true to the characters. We went from 11 year olds to 18/21 year olds over night.

   As a teacher I now have to worry about “eraseable” whiteboard markers that don’t wash out of pants and shirts.

   AAH, I wasn’t clear, if she were to look back on these moments (Teachers are encouraged to reflect on their practices) what would she do? As a teacher myself.
