   OK, I’m going to try to overcome my feelings and discuss this wand. Because I had cancer, I had to have everything checked, including my reproductive organs. The wand is to a tampon what an oversized zucchini is to a grape. It is huge. And it isn’t just inserted. It has to be moved around. I came of age in the ’70’s and took part in all the fun and craziness, so I’m no prude. But I like some privacy, modesty, if you will. This made me feel shameful. It was very different than your sweet doctor doing a quick check once a year, and talking to you as she goes. This was just icky. I’d rather go through chemo again than another TVU.

   I teach English to international students. While researching current events, one of my students from Saudi Arabia could not understand a part of Santorum’s speech. I explained that he is against birth control. “Ah, yes,” the student exclaimed. “We have people like that. Big families. Many children!” No, I explained further, he does not anyone to used birth control. “Crazy! That’s not good for women or anyone.”

   A new campaign slogan: Rick Santorum—more conservative than Saudi men.
