Ok, no game. He’s a crook. But he looks like such a nice nerd!

Who is the brain behind the crime network? Who got Davy into this particular game? Who provides the reality feedback to the game, for example that Mumbles didn’t do follow the program, with the result that his boys had to be deleted? Abner Kadaver was a resource that Davy (avatar Mr. Crime) used to fix the problem, still believing he was just playing a game. Don’t know who the brain behind the network is — maybe Panda, maybe someone yet unknown. However, except for the brilliant gamer (Davy), Panda seems to me to be the brightest bulb on the tree, so maybe he set it up, maybe even while in prison.

Hang on, there’s more here than meets the eye (or less, depending on how you look at it). I’m betting Davy is a gamer, not a crook. He doesn’t look or act like a crook. His avatar is Mr. Crime, and one of the persons he is playing against is Panda. He knows only the avatar, like he only knows Doubleup’s avatar. He doesn’t know that the person behind the avatar is a real live crook. Yesterday he talked about Doubleup, but can you see Doubleup playing computer games? I can’t, but we have seen that Panda spends a lot of time on the computer. He plays as Panda, as Doubleup, and maybe a few others. I think he is gaming with Davy. Davy thinks it’s all virtual — Panda makes it all reality. Blaze was sent to Davy to find out how much he knows. As long as he doesn’t suspect he is doing anything other than gaming, he is safe. For now he is a very useful tool for Panda because he is a brilliant gamer.

Davy – the innocent computer gamer, playing against all the other innocent gamers. You can be sure Doubleup doesn’t spend his time gaming, but he is one of the avatars. Probably all the other key players in Mr. Crime’s virtual-reality game are also avatars that Davy plays against. Poor Davy thinks he is just playing a cool game. If only he realized it was reality. Davy, in his innocence, is giving Mr. Crime all the best moves for the various avatars, including Dick Tracy and the team, which Mr. Crime then filters through Panda. Mr. Crime doesn’t have to be Davy’s uncle — he can just be a hacker capturing Davy’s moves and passing them on to Panda.

Maybe something like that but updated to the current cutting edge of virtual reality games. Davy thinks it is all virtual — he thinks he is playing with another innocent gamer, but his uncle (Mr. Crime) is making a reality show of it. I’m a bit worried about Davy’s health.

I think you hit it! Davy thinks he is just playing a computer game. He doesn’t realize that his uncle (the real Mr. Crime) is feeding him reality data and using Davy’s computer game moves to manage his reality crime game through Panda.

I think Mr. Crime knew all along that Little Face/Leonard would not hold and would ultimately go over to the other side. This is part of the plan. If only I could figure out the plan! Also I am uneasy about the strip on 14 March, where Panda says that Mr. Crime wanted to have payday early. I thought Crime didn’t pay.
