Talking of extended scenes of violence in Chester Gould’s day, just remember the shoot out with Flattop’s gang. Bullets were flying through bodies and I believe Ed the gunman was shown being shot in the head and bleeding for days. One wonders how Gould got away with it when it took movies twenty more years to catch up.
Great suspense in the third panel. And on the subject of Richard Nixon, how many other politicians have their own hit squad made of CIA agents like Howard Hunt and Frank Sturgis? And that is a fact. They were the ones who led the revolution to remove Batista from Cuba. And there are a lot of things that can’t be proven as fact right now.
This really isn’t the place to discuss Nixon, unless you were kidding. Nixon did a lot more than pranks. Great developments in the story and nice close us. Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow.
