Proving the chain letter wrong, are we, Chuck? :) Rip apart the chain letter and get great luck in the form of nice weather!

I thought Calvin signed up for recess baseball, not recess softball. I’m confused… :)

If the sun is shining, it’s most definitely an inside day. At least until the sun sets and the terribly uncomfortable brightness is eliminated.

Just hop on over to today’s Fox Trot… Jason’s got a Viking helmet he apparently doesn’t know exactly what to do with.

Garfield minus Garfield (and attached sock puppet) plus Jon (and attached sock puppet and Slipper Man)

Must have been nice to have had such a cloudy winter before eight very long months of sun come back with people using the wrong time. Count your blessings, Jon!

hippogriff, I wasn’t talking about “most” Christians, I said “many” Christians. :) Christmas is the best time of year, so I celebrate it as long as possible – sometimes into March or April depending on the weather – and know many others who do. I also have friends in places like the Philippines, where they celebrate Christmas from September through at least February.

The funny thing about this comic strip appearing on February 3 is that there is absolutely nothing unusual about taking down a Christmas tree the day after Candlemas, the actual official end of the Christmas season. Many Christians, particularly in certain cultures, leave their Christmas decorations up through February 2, Candlemas, the day celebrated for Mary presenting Jesus 40 days after birth. Now, taking the Christmas tree “out” does suggest a live tree, and that might be a little unusual this late, unless the tree was replaced sometime in January during the Christmas season with a fresher, less dry one. :)

Snow is a lot of fun! And no, I do not live in Florida, I grew up in the Midwest and still live in the Midwest, in Illinois. So don’t assume. :)
