A true contraceptive prevents conception aka fertilization. If a BC method prevents the embryo from implanting it is NOT a contraceptive, it is an abortifacient.
In health class 33 years ago we learned that the IUD either ptevents fertilization, or it prevents the embryo from implanting. If it prevents theembryo from implanting then it is abortifacient. Also I’ve seen the TV ads for Mirena the side effects are numerous. A woman would be better of using a sponge and a condom, which HL covers along with 14 other methods. If she wants one of the other four they don’t cover she is free to pay for it herself.
