The focus on âwhat if their father isâŚâ is kind of odd. The teacher covered that. She didnât specify father, or even âmom or dadâ only parent or guardian.
As far as questions like working more than one job, anything like that is easily enough handled by telling the kids, âany questions or problems, come see me at my deskâ.
The kids are old enough for this to be a âteachable momentâ in a lot of good ways; breaking down gender stereotypes, getting a glimpse into different lifestyles, taking pride in whatever kind of work you do.
Especially relevant today would be touching on the circumstances of living in times where work may not be easy to find, and that being inbetween jobs isnât necessarily something to be ashamed of.
