    I’m not sure what we’re missing here. The point on the edge will make a bigger circle in the same amount of time because it has a higher tangential speed. No, it’s not complicated, that’s for sure.

    The technical term for it is “linear speed”, as it measures the speed of the object along the tangent of the circle at that point.

    Thanks for pointing it out, everyone, and I didn’t even realize that the original comment alluded to every other Dad’s explanations. Only time Dad explained correctly, and I misjudged him.

    I stand corrected; I usually take Dad’s answers at face value and be completely fake all the time, like the one with the bridge (my all-time favorite), that’s why I assumed that he’s purposefully trying to freak Calvin out!
