I am a decent cook but nothing compared to my mother-in-law. My husband’s family is German/Russian so when she uses my kitchen, I not only get good food but incredible foreign dishes as well. My husband enjoys my food (most of the time) but knows that MIL is a better cook. I don’t get offended because I know she is amazing
My husband and I borrowed our Pastor’s car at the end because it was nicer than ours. We were able to avoid any humiliation because nobody dared to mess up his car. (We did find an apple core in the back, however, from one of his grandchildren)
As soon as they said that he was a mathematician, I automatically read it as BOB. I didn’t even look at most of the suspects, simply stopped at the first Robert (or Roberta) I could find
My husband and I agreed on a small wedding just to find out that the Russian version of a small wedding meant about 120 guests. In the end, I found great truth in the saying “more the merrier”
Personally, I do not find his comment to be rude. I look at pictures of myself from three years ago, before two children, and can say the exact same thing. All he is saying is that it must have a while because she is thin. Not rude. A bit blunt perhaps but true.
Sorry but they are Michael and Elizabeth younger. Remember, if they were the grandchildren, the older child would be the girl, not the younger. This is a portrayal of the children from the book “Something Old, Something New” unless I am mistaken.
