Calvin once asked his father why his mother was the one who stayed at home to take care of him while his father went to work everyday. His father explained that that before he (Calvin) was born, his mother did work. His parents figured that she would be the best candidate to be the stay at home with Calvin. For a moment, Calvin seemed to think that this was a loving gesture on his mothers part, giving up her career to be at home with him. The moment was short lived as his father went on to explain that her job was highly stressful,and having dealt with such stress, she would therefore be better prepared to deal with Calvin than he (his father) would. It was a funny strip, as they all are.
