Toilet paper should go over the front. You end up wasting less toilet paper that way when you can easily control how many squares you’re pulling. If you do it over the back, you might accidentally tear off an extra piece.

The problem is that citizens are too lazy to dig up exact change that’s right in there pockets. Whenever I pay for something with cash, I do my best to use all the change I have (hoping the final price isn’t higher than 75 cents on the final dollar amount).

When consumers don’t pay businesses with pennies when possible, very often businesses will get penny rolls from the bank so they can produce the change in pennies.

Good citizens should try to use proper change when paying via cash. It’s the responsible thing to do for our country.

Why are you assuming it’s a Mac? There are other all-in-one desktops that combine the monitor and the computer. There aren’t any logo identifiers on the one in this comic strip. Also the wires seem to go into the base; the iMac has wires that goes near the center of the arm holding the monitor. There are other AIOs that look more stunning than the current iMac.

Why does he “need” a used Corolla? Nobody needs an automobile. This is America, we make our own choices.

Just because gas is cheap now, doesn’t mean it will stay that way for a long time. If some people want a big truck, all the power to them. It only seems like a foolish choice if they rarely use that extra capacity.

If the checkout has a conveyor belt, I’ll put my bags right before the items I purchase so the cashier knows you’re using reusable bags. Or I prefer to self-checkout if possible.

Otherwise, you can be upfront before giving the cashier your items to checkout.

The way it works now is fine. It’s not hard for people to develop habits of cleaning their bags at least once a month and taking their bags with them to the store.

Your system would be overly complex. Would consumers not be able to have the choice of bringing their own bags? A lot of things can happen in a month that people may forget or can’t find time to do.

It also takes water, soap and energy to wash clothes? Should everyone just go around naked? Not to mention it also takes fuel, energy and materials to produce and transport disposable bags to grocery stores.

Secondary uses are OK, but it seems there’s a significant number of people that just throw away bags after a single use because they don’t care. The not caring also can lead to littering which is the main reason laws are coming up to tackle plastic bags discarded all over the place. Waste reduction is better than waste reusing.

Bacteria-laden? Just FYI: There’s bacteria everywhere. If you’re using the bags for items with dry packaging, you shouldn’t have to worry. Bags should also be washed once in awhile.

Sources? I strongly doubt that disposable bags are more eco-friendly than reusable bags. Why?

    1) Not all reusable bags are the same. Saying reusable bags are 32X worse than disposable bags doesn’t mean much since there isn’t just one uniform reusable bag everyone uses. There are plenty of reusable bags made from eco-friendly materials or even recycled plastic.

    2) Reusable bags aren’t just single purpose. They can be used for more than grocery shopping. When transporting loose items from one point to another, reusable bags are awesome. Insulated reusable bags are great for picnics or taking food on the go.

    3) There are plenty of varieties of reusable bags that don’t wear down so easily. Perhaps you should invest in better reusable bags. Haven’t had issues with mine.

    4) Recycling plastic (bags) is essentially downcycling; it gets melted into a lesser form of plastic that’s difficult to recycle each time and will eventually go into the landfill.

    5) Plastic bags constantly need to be replenished. Reusable bags much less so. Though I hate to admit it, transportation does add a significant impact to the carbon footprint of an item.

So please tell me your sources. I’m not saying reusable bags have no environmental impacts, but I would definitely say they are better than the other options.
