Not only that, but looking over the past few months, Luann has really shown some strength and put up with a lot, ever since Quill came back from NYC. If that isn’t maturity, I don’t know what is. Also, she is growing up. But she’s not even 20. She’s still just a kid. They both are!

Because most of the women, including myself, have either been there or known someone who has. In my opinion, Luann has every right to be upset, and reluctant to talk. At this point, everything rides on her parents’ Fuse endeavour. In addition, she probably figures, with as distant as Quill has been and how he chose to spend Christmas with Pru, that he wouldn’t care about what she has to say anyway. So it’s understandable that Luann has a lot of anger and frustration built up. I would too.

I don’t like it either. No wonder Luann doesn’t want to talk. No one else has listened to her concerns, and it doesn’t sound like Quill will either.

This is getting frustrating. We haven’t seen Quill at all except for the cameo in the Christmas Day strip, and unless there’s something planned for NYE, there’s no indication that he did anything to make up for Christmas.
I’m personally hoping the trip to NYC happens…but that it’s a trip Luann ends up making by herself, having shown Quill the door. She’s good at a lot of things: art, stage design, teaching children. But she hasn’t decided which path is right for her yet. Maybe in NYC she can find a children’s theatre to work at while finishing her college education there, and experience all 3 options at once, before deciding what she wants to do. The strip wouldn’t have to end, but it would be something that would strengthen Luann as a character and open up a new world and adventures for her.
Equally frustrating is “Mr Gray”. No one, not even Gunther’s mom, knows this man’s first name, and yet they invite him into the homes, their lives, and their business decisions.

I agree. I don’t buy the sudden “foster care” excuse. It seems too forced. Either Pru is up to something, or the writing has gotten that lazy.

Interesting that she’s going through Frank instead of waiting to talk to both Frank and Nancy. Frank is driven by money and doesn’t think things through so he’d naturally be easier to convince.

Interesting. Everyone’s interacting with SOMEONE…except Quill who’s way in the back, and kind of there….

Well, the problem is that she’s stuck and she knows it. If she makes too much of a scene, it will interfere with the holidays or her parents project. but there’s only so much someone can take, and fortunately she’s not as alone in this as I was worried she would be.
Calling it now: Relationship with Pru and Dez. Looking back, it kind of makes sense. Pru is Luann’s quirky friend, Dez is Bernice’s, and they were both introduced to the strip in the same enigmatic way.
