“Religion” is the ‘body of persons’ adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: Christianity, Buddhism, Mormonism, etc. In the popular media, a “Cult” is typically defined as a religious sect whose members are “controlled” by a manipulative organization or individual. This kind of cult is usually portrayed as deceptive, some requiring absolute loyalty from its followers. Members are often removed from their prior lives altogether, including their jobs, homes and families.

There are many people out there that call themselves Christians who really have no clue who Christ Jesus truly is or what He endured and sacrificed for us. A true Christian is supposed to be a “follower of Christ”. Someone who has received Christ as his or her personal Savior and accepts His death for their salvation. Christ died for ‘everyone’ some 2,000 years ago. His life, death and/or resurrection was witnessed by thousands. There is more historical evidence for Christ Jesus’ life and death than any other person, place or thing in history. Also, every one of the old and new Prophet’s foretelling of future events has been fulfilled with the exception of those yet to come. The remaining prophesies are to be fulfilled in the End Times. From all indicators we are rapidly approaching those End Times.
Our eternal salvation is an unearned gift. No one can force anyone to accept this gift. As Christ followers, we are only required to share with others His message of Salvation. No Christian is expected to convert anyone…. that is done by the Holy Spirit. We are each Free to Receive or Reject this gift.
