   I am old enough to remember the climate from 60 years ago.

   Don’t tell me things haven’t changed.

   Growing seasons have changed.

   Rainfall patterns and seasonality have changed.

   Storm intensities have increased.

   And fire-fighters all agree that current fires are far harder to control than they ever have been.

   Lived experience, not from the net, but my own and that of those that I have spoken with, going back to the 1930s.

   Not just in California but all across the world, the opportunities for safe controlled burns are few and far between.These fires are occurring in the middle of the Northern Hemisphere winter. The very time you should be conducting them.The 2019/20 fires that burned most of the forests in Eastern Australia were predicted in the 1990s. But they were expected to occur in the 2040s. The fact that they have started to happen 20 years early is ominous.

   We are facing a world wide crisis requiring a global solution, sticking your head in the sand is not an answer.
