I lived at home with my folks til’ I was thirty, then moved to join my now husband. I was working at the time, paying my own bills, saving some money and helping with the cooking and housework. In return, my folks didn’t charge me rent.
In my opinion Gunther has evolved considerably in the strip. He went from an awkward doofus with braces on his buck teeth and glasses, always tripping over his own feet, to a guy who’s actually cute, shy but sweet, very smart and a talented costumer. I would love to see him get involved in a theater group. Maybe he and his lady could direct and costume a Steampunk inspired version of “The Pirates of Penzance”.
Frank may not be exciting but he is steady, dependable and a decent provider. After a certain age that becomes a lot more attractive than being a party boy!
