It’s not just prominent members of the party, it’s officers from Trump’s own White House who say he’s absolutely unfit to be president again — including his former chief of staff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, who have said he’s a fascist.
If you’ve voted by mail or absentee, take a few minutes to check that your vote has been received and processed. You can do it at your state’s Board of Elections page, or through vote dot org. There are already reports of mailbox and ballot drop box arson in Phoenix, Portland, and Vancouver, so make sure your vote is counted.
Remember, it was recently revealed that Trump tried to stop wildfire aid from California until his aides showed him there were lots of Republican voters in Orange County. And when Michigan had serious floods in 2020, Trump threatened to withhold aid unless they stopped collecting absentee ballots. In Trump’s America, you’re only a real American citizen and deserving of government assistance if you’re a Republican.
Also, Project 2025 calls for privatizing the NOAA, including the National Weather Service, and gutting FEMA.
Voter registration deadlines are coming up in many states today. Take a few minutes to check your voter status at vote dot org and make sure you’re ready.
As a reminder, when Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s associate, was arrested, the only thing then-President Trump said was “I wish her well.” Not a word of condemnation, not a word of sympathy for her and Epstein’s victims.
This is the first time the book banners have shown up in the strip and they’re literally a faceless mob. Who are they? What’s motivating them other than a nonspecific hatred of one particular book? Better not ask, because that might offend the right-wing Christians who are behind most book banning efforts these days.
