How true! I once saw a random comic of a man poised outside a labyrinth, and by the entrance was a sign that read “Facebook – once in, never out.”Ominous and prophetic.

Glad I never joined.

Now we know what they REALLY meant when they announced rising share prices.

I shared this on FB.

You’re blaming the victim here. Granted there are people who “overshare” in a dangerous fashion. It’s another thing when data about you and your preferences to be used to manipulate you into acting against your own interests. This is a corporate strategy and you are the product, without your consent. Don’t be fooled.

“I see you went to …’s.” “How did you find out about that?” “I saw your Facebook post.” “Stalker, Creep!”

Everything has consequences. Posting your life on a public forum and expecting it to stay private is irrational at best.

I have a tee shirt that reflects my situation accurately: “Yes, it’s true. I’m not on Facebook.”

I think the point of the outrage is that we should get to choose who to overshare with. I may overshare with my best friend on FB but I would be pretty livid if I saw that my private message to her was shared with companies and individuals that I didn’t approve of. It’s a double-edged sword for sure. “Say it forget it, write it regret it” is a good adage to go by these days.
