Ain’t gonna happen, until you get a good ride that has tail fins and leaks oil…

I love to take “get lost” road trips but GPS is making it way too easy.

It used to be that I’d just start driving in some random direction for several hours and turning whenever I got the notion to. Then when it’d be time to come back home, I’d pull out the paper map and figure out where in the blazes I am and how to get back. The one drawback was that I’d have to stay on the more-traveled roads since on a state-wide map, the little dirt roads and back roads wouldn’t be shown.

Now with GPS, I CAN take the back roads but then there’s no challenge to figuring out where I am in order to head back home.

But either way is a great way to explore the countryside and spend a day off.

You can’t go back: those of us that went “right” instead of “left” are forever lost in a cloudy fog.

The good old day when you could get a flat tire fixed at a gas station or the oil changed or a fan belt replaced or how about a tune up? But then again in the old days a gas station was also known as a service station.
