Woman: Do you supposed you could set the table like I asked you to? Man: Oh. I thought you said "sit at the table." Woman: Yes, I can see how you'd make that mistake, considering that's what you've been doing since your mom plopped you in a high chair.
freeholder1, I don’t know what you mean by the “2st Century,” but this comic is not about you, nor is it about intelligent, outgoing people. True, some of us have some skill at communication, and are capable of domestic chores; but I personally know dozens of people (of both genders, and of ages ranging from 12 to 77) of whom today’s comic may be making fun, quite legitimately.
Also, the person being made fun of is the character (a fictional, cartoon character, I might add) sitting at the right of the panel, not one of the five people you are acquainted with.
