Woman: How come when I like the wife, you don't like husband? Man: Same reason that when I'm friends with the husband, you don't like the wife. Woman: Sigh. We'll never have friends. Man: You've got me. Woman: Sigh.
The wife is no more and no less at fault today than the husband. It’s irony that they, as a couple, are incompatible with other couples. (Notice she says “We’ll never have friends”, not “I’ll never have friends.”) She seems concerned about it and he does not, but that doesn’t make either of them blameworthy.
It’s wonderful if your spouse is your best friend, but if your spouse is your only friend you’d better plan on dying simultaneously…

Most of the wives in this strip are just as “loving.”

That’s funny, my wife and I don’t know anyone whom we like, who’s married to someone we don’t also like… except a couple of family members, that is.
