Company safety rules said to never push the sensor blades to hold the elevator doors open. But if you didn’t, you’d hardly ever get on, because otherwise the doors started closing even before everyone who was leaving got out. A simple safety light and sensor like on my garage door would handle that, but I haven’t seen one yet.
