Native plants in the front yard and vegetable garden in the back. No HOA or city council to tell me to waste money on grass or non-native plants. The grass they force you to plant is an invasive, thirsty species whose only purpose is to show that you have money to waste on its upkeep. Veggie gardens are a better use of funds.
Y’know, I gotta say, my husband got a lawn service to mow/whack weeds as soon as possible, but he goes out to water the flowers I love but an challenged in getting to without even being asked. What a guy!

I cut the grass a little each day and weed a little and don’t overdo. So it isn’t so much of a chore.
