Lonewolf & Dry I will do that in the house, but never in the outdoors….you never know what you’ll step in. Not to mention that pavement ought to be a little hot!
I have let my kids run barefeet in our yard, but I have been worried for bees, too, as our lawn is mostly clover. Well, now lawn is mowed and I can feel easier…
I grew up on a farm. When school ended and summer started I wore NO shoes till fall and school started again. I went every where on the farm barefoot and NEVER stepped on or in anything. If someone made me wear shoes it was inevitable that I would find a locust thorn or a nail to impale my foot. I was the only person to walk through the chicken pen shoeless and never, ever had to say “EEEEEWWWWWW!

Better you than me, but that’s what you get when you go walking around in your bare feet.

I walk around in my bare feet all summer long at home. One of the freedoms of summer!

Well, Rover what do you think? Better find Mom, Red.
You’re right Grog, not a good idea. But it feels good until something like this happens!

Grog, Kudos to you for not going out of the house without shoes. I do it in the back yard even though I know I shouldn’t! LOL

Rover was right, Red did end up getting hurt
paha_siga over 14 years ago
Actually, he got hurt because he listened to Rover! Maybe if he had hung to the tree for some more time, he would not have landed on a bee.

Looks like Red had his tonsils removed?

I actually stepped on a bee when I was a kid. I think it was the last time I ever went barefoot outside.

My second earliest memory was when I picked up a bee with my thumb and finger.
I still remember yelling!

Non Africanized bees are very gentle and can be touched with out stinging. They react to the threat of harm.

Shoes are the invention of the Devil. Weather permitting, life is meant to be lived barefoot!!!
