The Post Office hates when that happens!

And apparently parked mail boxes.

Yes they did back then.

We have a dog in our neighborhood that will even bark at telephone poles.

Our black lab chases vultures….caught one …once!…☻

My Boston Terrier always tried to catch the Goodyear Blimp. Never quite made it.

Dogs see color just not the same intensity as people. Except for blue which they see same as us.

My Father-in-law had a dog(Sparky) that used to chase airplanes.

Signs of a miss-spent youth…I miss those days!

That plane must have been carrying mail.

My neighbor’s dog (now dead) used to bark at passing clouds.

That dog deserves a an owner who yaks on his cell phone while driving.

The red, white, and blue mail boxes were ordered when Summerville was Postmaster General in the Eisenhower administration. They were for depositing mail only. The storage boxes that held yet more loads for the foot-only posties to carry remained the solid color.

Their legal load was sixty pounds, but you could be”written up” if you actually weighed one. My record was 72 pounds and I was “written up” for it. We had to travel to our route on a city bus. One regular driver always accused us of putting a good pack mule out of work. He was right. The only post office supplied by mule was Supai, AZ, half-way down into Grand Canyon.

My last dog (donor for my screen name) loved to chase Navy helicopters barking madly. After the chopper went away, she trot back with a very pleased look on her face.

When his son would say or do something that inspired pride, Daddy would turn to the audience and say with a grin, “Dat’s my boy who said dat!”
