    Being a Navy Vet, officers with the rank of Commander can be Captains of ships. Therefore Crunch, being the commander of the SS Guppy, can be and should be addressed as Captain.

    Mom is wrong. Red is not under the table so he’s not feeding Rover from under the table. He’s feeding Rover from his seat at the table!
