Well?! Well?!! Did they have the latest issue of Superman?! Books Records Yesindeedy- truth, Justice and the American way! The American way?? Capitalism. Comic book companies make millions off kids like me.
Red, how did you get so smart?! When I was a kid, I could hardly wait for the new issues of "Superman, too…and, to think, I actually liked Lois Lane =-O
I remember True Comics, the only non-fiction one. My mother didn’t throw them away – just made me give them to my cousin, who shredded them within a month. They probably don’t have much collector value today, but I still fantasize about writing for them.
Spiderman.Aquaman (10cents/12 cents 1965)were more to my taste…I just read they’re killing off Archie comics in a couple of months.Bye Bye Veronica,Betty, Jughead….sigh..
I well understand what Red means. I’m just uncomfortable with the wording that sounds too much like those who view capitalism as exploitative. There is a whiff of that in Night-Gaunt49’s comment too, which implies it is a function of government to regulate the free market. I would say “Government is great…as long as it is under control. Lots of control.”

Lois Lane vs. Lana Lang? Krypto, the Super Dog? Not to mention my favorite, the Bizarro World! God bless the American Way of Capitalism!

I was more into Tomb of Dracula and Werewolf By Night. Superman was too white bread and boring. Good wins out over inept evil yet again. Yawn.

Save all those comic books, Red, they’ll be worth a fortune on Ebay some day.

My comic book collection from the early 60’s has increased 250% Unfortunately that’s still only 25 cents each.
