I don’t know, I kind of like the Rover face better!

Gotta disagree with you there, Jo. I’ve seen many a Halloween costume or jack o’ lantern that wasn’t scary. Gotta think outaide the box! I made a Charlie Brown face one year on my pumpkin and it was a big hit in the neighborhood!

It seems that Rover gives his nod of approval to this Halloween look. Love it, boys!LOVE & HUGS TO RED & ROVER

The pumpkin does not shrink and grow again. If you look the panels start small and gradually increase as does Red and Rover. The pumpkin therefore is the correct size in each panel.

I think Rover appreciated Red’s tip o’ the hat to him, but he preferred his fierce inner-dog-descendant-of-the-wolf side be on display for Hallowe’en. After all, a dog’s got a reputation to maintain.

I love the way the simple, subtle addition of a small line above Rover’s right eye in panel 3 (like a lowered eyebrow) shows his dissatisfaction with the pumpkin’s face.
