It's a brand spanking new year, boy! You know what that means, don't you?! You're doubling my food rations?! No, silly. It means a fresh new start! It means countless hours of adventures we can only imagine! It means good riddance to the same old, same old, and a big hello to newfangledism! newfangledism?? So whaddya say, pal?! Let's do it! (Sigh) we've seen this episode before. Not upside down, we haven't.
I grew up in a small town, but being a kid and covering it on foot or by bicycle it was a metropolis of adventure and discovery. Just dragging my sled through the deep snow in the ditches out front of the houses for the length of my block — “going to Antarctica” — was a winter adventure that got me hot chocolate and cookies on my successful return.
