UPS (Fedex, etc.) drivers always get a cheerful greeting.

As kids in the 70’s we loved the brown truck pulling up in the snow in December. We knew toys came from it. My little brother would run around in circles excited and say " wrown ruk, wrown ruk". Then, my mom would stash them in the attic.

Yesterday, someone said that this is their favourite strip and I replied that my favourite strip is obvious from my username but “Red and Rover” is a close rival. I also said that Rover could beat Hobbes in a fight so long as Hobbes was in his stuffed doll form. I remember that someone said last week that Rover could beat Wile E. Coyote. I remembered later that I had once commented on Rover’s speed when racing Red by saying that Rover could outrun Roadrunner. Some of the strips with Rover chasing squirrels have changed my mind about this. He always outruns Red but he cannot catch a squirrel let alone Roadrunner.

Considering various studies show from 11 to 1, up to 17 to 1, negative comments, please say “thank you” more often.

I had one UPS guy ring the doorbell a few years ago and waited for me to open the door so he could hand me the box, knowing I would say thank you: he just needed someone to hear him express, “I LOVE my job this time of year!” and with that he was on his way.
