I had the same thought as Kaputnik. What year is this from? I don’t see a copyright date on the comic. Most people don’t remember the 1970’s oil embargo, the long lines of cars waiting at gas stations, and the ugly behavior that resulted.
We have long underpaid for gas in the USA, oddly enough. We overpay for so many other things.
