On Dec. 24, 2011, 600 people gathered in Shanghai, China, for a mass pillow fight! Anya and Irina were born 15 minutes apart in Kopeysk, Russia on Dec. 17, 1998, and accidentally switched at birth Irina's parents discovered the swap when a paternity test showed neither of them were related to their daughter!

A couple of years ago, saw a Canadian Goose hit a truck — it looked like a giant feather pillow exploded.

Will the real parents stand up, please? Is their daughter another person? How does paternity enter into it?Maybe I’m dense, but it doesn’t make sense to me!

I believe paternity is determined by analysis of the genetic material of cells derived from the child and father and maternity is determined by analysis of the genetic material found in the mitochondria within the cells and those of the mother. Mitochondria and its host cells have separate genes. A maternity test would also have to be performed to establish that the girls were unrelated to either parent.

Switched at Birth problems are eliminated today since they take the mother’s fingerprint and the baby’s footprint right after the birth. Plus matching I.D. bracelets are put on the baby’s wrist and ankle and matches the mother’s bracelet.

Also there would be no birth swich if people would have their babies at home instead of the hospital. Do you really have to go to the hospital to have a baby when people were having them long before there were hospitals?
